Joint implants are surgical procedures designed to restore function and mobility to damaged or diseased joints such as the hip, knee, shoulder or ankle. CCM and implant grade stainless steel are the preferred materials for joints due to the high strength and fatigue resistance required, however, some patients with Ni allergies and aging are also using titanium alloys, which are lighter and more biocompatible, but less strong than the previous two materials.
